Visual Newsdesk:

A Creative Service For Dynamic Events

We specialise in graphic recording at conferences, meetings and events (whether live, in-person or remote/online), where we effectively 'draw the event story'.

We are a team of professional journalists, illustrators and graphic designers and together we excel in capturing and illustrating stories in real time.

We can do this in two ways: digitally or on paper.

Digital Graphic Recording

Our team of journalists and illustrators work together live at events to capture and illustrate the key points, messages and takeaways from keynote presentations, parallel workshops and feedback sessions. Throughout the event we can produce a stream of vibrant, detailed and accurate visual summaries of the event content that can be shared live on social media during the day, broadcasting key messages beyond the conference hall and boosting the event's online traction.

The visuals can also be projected or shown on screens at the venue during breaks and intervals. The images produced provide a valuable visual record of the event content and can be shared with delegates afterward as a visual summary of the event, thereby giving delegates and the client / event organisers added value. Sponsor / client logos can be carried on the visuals, giving event funders an additional platform for exposure.

The visuals can be reused and repurposed after the event in whatever way the client chooses - e.g. published in hard copy booklets and reports; used to illustrate blog posts; re-used on social media intermittently as a reminder of the messages from the day or re-shared the following year in the run up to the next annual event. We can also produce large scale digital infographics to provide a creative review of the overall event content rather than a stream of images throughout the day. Animated GIFS can also be produced in advance to promote the event or afterwards to summarise the event content. See this link for some examples.

Live Drawing or Paper Graphic Harvesting

A Visual Newsdesk journalist and artist / illustrator attends the event, with the journalist capturing the information and sharing it with the artist who draws a visual representation of the content on a large board in the room, at the side of the stage or in the main foyer of the event. The illustration produced is usually an abstract representation of key points and messages conveyed on the day, reproduced through the use of text, quotes and illustrative drawings. The live paper drawing creates a point of interest in the room and provides an eye-catching 'work in progress' summary of the topics being discussed. Delegates often take photos of the drawing or graphic record in progress and these can be shared live on social media. The finished work can be handed over to the event host or organiser at the end of the day for display in their offices or HQ.
