Live Content Creation – Paper Recording

Ruth Graham of Visual Newsdesk at Storyburst attended the ISPCC Childline event, Keeping Children Safe Online, where she captured highlights from a compelling practical workshop as well as crucial feedback from the World Cafe style breakout discussions.

The client loved Ruth's style – and most importantly, the visual really gave clarity to the themes discussed and made it easy to see at a glance the breadth of the issue and the extent of the gaps in Ireland's approach to dealing with it. ISPCC Childline consequently used an extract from the image to back up their online call for a National Cyber Safety Strategy.

As part of Visual Newsdesk's production at ICIC17 (an international conference on Integrated Care, hosted by University College Dublin in May 2017), Ruth was on her feet, pens poised for an impressive three days straight – visualising the complex and important contributions being made in key sessions. The presentations were attended by Maria Rolston, who was avidly listening, compiling, editing and feeding back information for Ruth to depict (and for Therese McKenna to depict digitally). Ruth was stationed in the atrium, where delegates would gather at the breaks – so her work was very visible and people enjoyed interacting with it, whether they were snapping and sharing photographs or offering their thoughts and opinions on what was being discussed.
